"What the. . .?!" Leod almost yelled, but the froze suddenly when he saw the elf. "Who are you? And where is Ziruth?" He asked, despite watching the red dragon leave, but that did not tell him where he is going. He quickly brushed the small rocks and dirt off of himself and then stood, brushing off his pants. A large mound of rocks was left where he had been laying, which seemed to annoy him slightly.

"The Dragon?" Robin questioned, sure that the boy had seen the giant beast go into the forest. "He went hunting." The elf threw the stone at the lake watching it skip one...two...three...four times. "My name is Robin by the way. Who are you?"

"L-Leod." He stuttered out of confusement. "Hunting?. . . Oh!" Leod said suddenly, realizing thats why Ziruth had left. "Its nice to meet you," He paused in thought, trying to remember the elf's name. "Robin. Why are you here at the Nowlen Lake? fishing, I presume."

"Well... not really fishing... or hunting really..." Robin struggled to think of what exactly one would call turtle chasing. The elf decided to call it just that. "I was turtle chasing." he said, realizing just how dumb it sounded as the words passed his mouth. "What are you doing at the lake?"

"Just traveling through. I think that Ziruth was hunting for fish when I accidentally fell asleep." Leod said as he sat down on the mound of gravel. "So, how did you two meet?" Leod asked curiously. If Robin was 'turtle chasing' at the same time that Ziruth was hunting for fish, he could imagine what had happened.

"Your friend tried to eat me." explained Robin, tossing another stone into the water. The sky overhead was clear, and didn't provide any shade for the elf. Robin hopped off the bolder and climbed a tree were it was a little cooler.

Leod chuckled, but then stopped when the elf stood, and then approached a nearby tree to climb it. "Apparently he missed." He started laughing again, which brought him out of his daze and made him fully awake. "He doesn't take very long to hunt, actually. I'm pretty sure he can hunt a lot faster that either you or me." Leod said in a much louder tone because Robin had climbed a tree. "And he doesn't catch anything thats sick, either, and usually goes for the wounded because he can smell it's blood." He explained.

"I don't think he missed." said Robin honestly, remembering how he had jumped from the water in fright. It was kind of embarassing, now that the elf looked back on it, how he had been so afraid and cowardly. "Well that's good to know." said Robin, thankful that the dragon did not hunt anything diseased.

"Did he bite you?" Leod asked, slightly worried. The elf had no sign of being injured, but he couldn't tell for sure. Yet Ziruth has never bitten anyone by accident before, but there was always the chance. Leod paused, he thought that he had heard a splash before he fell asleep, but it must have not caught his attention.

"No, he didn't bite me." said Robin, picking the dead bark off the tree to help it grow. "He scared me, but he didn't bite me." The elf began to climb higher, noticing something glittering in the branches....

"He usually scares everyone, people in the cities are not used to seeing a dragon, and usually run way like he is going to eat them." Leod chuckled. "Ziruth has even told me that he is tempted to eat them." He yawned, and then stood up, looking to wards the sky in which Ziruth had flown off, wondering when he would be back. Its should be soon, unless what had happened between Robin and Ziruth had scared everything off that was big enough to eat.

Robin laughed, and stopped when he found what was sparkling. "What do you reckon this is?" he asked, snatching it from the tree. It was a little golden ball, with strange markings all over it. The elf began to climb down, before tossing the ball to the boy on the ground.

Leod barely managed to catch it and almost dropped the strange golden ball. He paused for a moment looking at it, and then held it up to his eye. Nothing, all he could see was the strange markings up close. Yet a strange feeling told him to get rid of it, but he instead examined it some more. "I don't know. . . I've never seen anything like it." He tossed it back to robin. "You keep it."

"Okay." said the elf, catching it and putting it in his pocket. Robin climbed down from the tree and sat down near the base of it. "Do you think your dragon would know anything of it?" he asked, still curious.

"I'm not sure, he usually know a lot more than I do, but you should let him eat before we ask him about it, okay?" Leod asked, still trying to think of what that orb was.
