Hiding in the brush surrounding an old leather-leaf, a man crouched, Arrow knocked, fletching drawn to ear, A brown bear in his sights.
The Bear was paying him no attention, mostly because it didn't know he was there, and because it was eating recently caught prey. For the sake of those with weaker stomachs, the details shall be spared.
Thom's arm quivered as if to say, "Hello? Remember me? You can't hold a drawn bow forever! You aren't Samson after all!"
"Sorry, mate," whispered Thom to the bear, "Nothing personal."
The arrow flew true to its mark. Straight though the creature's ear. The creature fell where it had stood. Again sparing the details, Thom stood and grunted softly.
He stood and grunted slightly, I must not be getting enough salt. My legs are cramping up like an old man's.
He realized he was sweating, a lot. He pulled his kerchief from his pocket and wiped his face and neck. He continued to his arms, and grunted when he touched the still-raw skin on the scar he received from the last attack. He had been separated from his party when those....those....things, those wolves, had attacked them.
They had bitten him in several places before the humans, HIS party, had organized and mounted a counter-offensive.
He had taken off his shirt and made a tourniquet with it for his arm. This had bared his chest, revealing the serpentine golden tattoos of two dragons each wrapping themselves around an arm, head resting on the back of the respective hand.
On his left side, stretching from front to back, was a random field of tattoo-like marks, and one long-healed-over scar-of-a-gash that all suggested some barbaric ritual.
Tier Anasazi, this man's name was.
He had no Clan, no Sept, no creed, no people...not anymore...
He was of the Nitchzeans, a group of...once a group of powerful people. Barbarians they had been called...true...but that didn't mean that they had to like it...
Dragons were their sworn enemy. It was the Dragons who had driven them to the point of extinction.
Dragons with riders, but Dragons none the less...
Thom went over to the bear, took out his knife, and ((again, for our younger viewers)) finished the job quickly.

He looked for a way out of the trap. He started to panic, the thought of being put in a cage sending shivers up his spine. Growling defiantly, he whipped around behind him, still searching, hoping, praying that there was a way out. Finally, he spotted a way out, but more of them came from behind him, and he did the only thing his mind could process. He ran.
His black fur rippled against his muscular body as he ran through the forest, the unknown strangers right on his tail. He weaved in and out of the tall redwoods, trying to out-maneuver them.

Looking in all directions to make sure no one was watching him, Thom, with some difficulty caused by the sheer size (but not weight), shouldered the Bear, brought it back to where he had set up a temporary camp, and proceeded to cook it.
Only minutes later, Thom heard voices....shouting......chasing something by the sound of it...they were moving quite fast.
Dropping the kindling to the ground, Thom grabbed the thick, cold haft of his flatsword, sheathed it on his back, and quietly ran to investigate...
The noise was coming from the redwood grove... I could get a few bow-shots off from up in the trees.....nah......he continued theorizing to himself as he ran.

Thinking he was out of dark waters, Pyro started to slow down a bit, and looked behind him to see...He ducked his head, surprised to see an arrow, it still vibrating in a tree trunk it had pierced. Okay, so they aren't gone. He thought gloomily, running ahead through the forest once more. (Meh....brain fried ^_^

Finally arriving at the place he heard the noise come from, and saw.....a wolf. Running.
By the rasp of its breath, Tier could tell it had been running for some time.
WOOSH *THOCK* WOOSH *THUNK* A searing pain shot through his left forarm. It burned like it was red-hot iron that was being pounded on a forge.
He tore out the arrow, and after a......deliberately worded "monologue", he embraced the void, and fed all of his anger, pain, passion for revenge, and fear into it.
His face hardened, from stone to steel. His posture straightened, his thoughts ceased, his face was expressionless, his eyes became portals into an unknown universe. A universe of darkness; if anyone were to look into his eyes, reguardless of friend or foe, they would instantly know that these were their final moments.
He could feel the wind; he was one with the wind; he was the wind. He rasped, panted, and ran with the wolf; he was part of the wolf; was one with it.
His sword was no longer a sword, but an extension of his body; it was his body.
The Blood Frenzy now upon him, with fluid efficiency, Tier unsheathed his sword, and flowed to his attackers.
Hellwind followed by Righteous fury crowned by Deathbringer, and finishing with the knight rests
His enemies dismembered bodies thudding to the ground, prompted the end of the Frenzy.
Turning, he sheathed his sword, and walked toward where the wolf had fled.
((I dare you to try to beat that!!))

((XD!! Trust me, I can't and won't! )) Hearing many thudding sounds behind him, Pyro turned his head and looked to see the men...gone. Grinning, he turned his head just in time to see a large tree, then WHAM!, his head collided with the hard trunk of the tree. Seeing stars dancing around his head, he wobbled around on his unsteady legs. Then the stars were gone, and he fell to the ground unconscious.

((I don't care. The fact that I couldn't never stopped me!)) ((just give it a try! You'll suprise yourself with you do! )) The crows did not even wait for him to walk away before they assailed the corpses of the attackers. Batting an errant crow out of the way, Tier tracked the wolf from where he had last seen it. He stopped to think, men chasing a wolf....there's nothing painfully unusual about that...It was true. The only reason that he attacked those men was because they had shot him. Accident or no, they had shot him! But...Tier felt something different...he felt....drawn to it. He felt...something. He couldn't quite put it to words...so...he walked. He sought ought the wolf. He found it, lying unconsious on the ground. Carefully, he crouched and approached it. It had a nasty lump on it's head. (insert description here (STAR!!!! THAT'S YOU!!)) So, seeing as it was out cold, Tier picked it up in both hands, and carried it back to his temporary camp. After he put the wolf near the fire, a small fire made with nothing but dry barkless branches to minimise smoke, he continued with his meal preparations.

Pyro twitched as he opened his eyes slightly, finally coming to his senses. The light burned his eyes at first, so he closed them quickly. He opened them again, becoming more accustomed to the light of the fire, until his electric blue eyes were wide open. Pyro jumped at the site of the man, but quickly lost his balance and fell down to the ground, layered with leaves.
(I am SOOOOOOOOOO sorry I haven't posted for, like, a month!!!!!!! ;_;)

As Tier finished off the last of his meal, he looked over to the Wolf.
It was still laying on the ground, breathing much more easily than before. Suddenly, it twitched and shot up, electric blue eyes staring right at Tier.
Once it realised what it was looking at, it jumped back, and fell down.
Tier just sat there, watching it the whole time. "If you're hungry," he said, knowing that it was INCREDIBLY unlikely that a wolf would respond (only if you want it to, star), "there's meat by the fire. Help yourself."

(it can't understand english, but it does understand the word MEAT ) Pyro looked at the meat hungrily, and, ignoring the man's presence for once, dug into the meat like there was no tomorrow. ((Writer's Block...*cry*))

Tier watched calmly as The wolf dove at the meat and started eating ravenously.
An odd sensation tickled the back of his mind. He could almost feel the wolfs hunger. No...that would be madness...what was he thinking...
"are you alone?" he asked, not expecting a response, while he prepaired to travel again.
If he was going to make it to Kashgar, he would need to get going soon...

There were only three words Pyro could understand very well in the Human language: Meat, Water, and Alone. A sad look overcame the wolf, but he quickly tried to hide it by turning his head at a different direction and continued to eat.

Now, Tier isn't a telepath or anything, but he can see grief and agony on a face, even if the face belongs to a wolf.
When the wolf turned away, back to the meat, Tier felt bad.
"look, I know you can't tell me your story, you very likely can't even understand me, but....ah...." he checked the heigth of the sun and looked back to the wolf, "I'm going to Kashgar." he jestured in a vain attempt to communicate what he just said, "I-I-I-I'm leaving in a few minutes. I have to get there to see if anyone's still alive."
He looked anxiously to the east and back, "You..." he exhaled irritatedly, "you can come with me, but I'm going to be moving very fast..."
He pointed to the wolf, then to himself, then to the east, and looked at the wolf.

Pyro, hearing the man starts jumbling around with his native language, he looked up to see the man pointing to him, then to himself, then to a direction into the woods. Pyro looked at the man, narrowing his eyes in concentration as to decipher what the man was trying to say. Suddenly, it hit him head-on. Pyro's eyes grew slightly larger at the fact the man was asking him to go somewhere, all caution lost to the excitement rushing through him.
