Robin lay hanging from a tree by his knees, playing a wonderful tune from his hornpipe. The notes echoed through the forest, catching the ears of many. A few wolves could be heard off in the distance somewhere, singing along with the melody. Robin pulled himself back onto the branch and glanced up at the raining sky. He loved the rain, but the song slowed to match the weather.

Akali, currently picking apples from her apple trees, tilted her head to the side, hearing a small tune. She turned her head to the sound, and narrowed her eyes. Setting her basket on the ground underneath a tree, she made her way over. A few minutes later, she saw an elf in a tree playing some kind of instrument. Bingo. She mused to herself, moving to stand below the elf. "Er, hello?" She said, hands on her hips. She always does that movement when confused.

Robin stopped as he saw a pretty Elven maiden walk towards him. "Hello." he said shyly. Then he hung by his knees from the branch so he could talk. "What are you doing?" he asked. He heard something brush against the tree bark, and he caught the instrument at his fingertips as it fell. Robin put it into his pocket so it would't fall again.

Akali backed up a bit so his face wouldn't be right in hers. "I was going to ask you the same thing." She said, giving him a playful look. "I'm Akali." She said, holding out her hand. "And you are...?"

"Robin. Robin Blade." He held out his hand too, but lost his balance and fell to the ground. Embarassed, he got up, his face as red as the apples on the trees. "I am enjoying the rain and playing a tune." he said to answer her question. "What are you doing?" he repeated in a friendly tone.

Akali stiffled a chuckle, but quickly put on a mask when he stood back up. She grinned at his very red face. "I came to see where that tune was coming from. But before that, I was picking apples from my apple trees." Suddenly, Akali stiffened, hearing something inside her head go off. "Oh, man!" She groaned out loud. "Look, you need to get back into that tree, run away, or something!" She kept throwing her head side to side, and even up into the sky.

"What?" asked Robin confused. "What's wrong? What do I have to get away from? Why aren't you running?" The elf asked, his voice full of misunderstanding. "Why should I run?" he asked her.

"It's my partner, Alancar, he gets over protective when it comes to stran--" Akali was interrupted as something landed next to her. "---gers..." She finished. The dragon's big black wings stretched out wide, and it's long neck lunging for the elf. "No! Alancar, that's enough!" She said, jumping in front of the snarling teeth. Luckily, Alancar stopped before he did some damage, and pulled back his head, light gray eyes glaring at the male elf. Who is he?! He asked angrily, baring his teeth and snarling.

Robin jumped backwards as the dragon thrust its head towards him. He could feel its hot breath against his face as he fell, again. He got up hurriedly and watched, trembling, as the great beast obeyed the girl. "H-hello." he said, bravely extending a shaking arm to the creature.

The dragon snorted, and turned it's head away defiantly. Akali huffed out an annoyed sigh. "Sorry Robin, this is Alancar. He does this when I meet new people. Which has only happened once..." With that, she got a slight sad look, but quickly erased it, putting on a friendly face. "So, now that Alancar has calmed down, want to come over for lunch? I was about done with picking the apples." She offered.

"O-okay." said Robin, still a little fearful of the beast. Then, gaining his courage, "What happend before when you met a stranger?" he asked, controlling his shaking.

Akali shrugged. "The same as now. Actually, he and Alancar became very good friends." She said, starting to walk towards the trees where she left the basket.

Robin could feel himself become more calm. His fears were that the other stranger got eaten. The elf began to follow, being sure to stay at the dragon's side so he wouldn't be bitten. "Where are we going?" asked Robin.

Akali gave him a look. "To pick up the basket that I dropped, then head over to my house and have lunch." She said.

"You were picking apples in the rain?" asked Robin curiously. The water beat upon his head lightly, soaking his hair and cloak. The elf didn't mind though, and he looked up at the sky allowing his face to get wet as well.
