Asha looked ahead to the city. She could see the bridges that connected the vast trees that held the homes of the elves. A loud roar made her look to the sky. hundreds of dragons fleew over head. They dived steeply pulling up just in time. show offs.Asha thought. she looked back down to see liam already several steps ahead of her. she quickly caught up with him and asked " why are we here again? theres no one here. besides elves... and dragons."

Liam didn't stop or look at her. " exactly. were rebells, Asha, we dont want any humans to see us."

" i thought that was what all of the disguises were for. Or do i just spend hours dying my hair for fun?" She frowned at him. She didn't understand why he was the way he was. 3 years she'd known him and she still didn't know half the amount of stuf about him that he did about her.

"I don't know, Asha. You tell me." he said. his tone was frustrated, annoyed, and somehow sad at the same time.he kept walking even though Asha had stopped.

Eslakon sighed as he walked among the cobble-stone street filled with dragons, elves. . . and humans? He paused slightly, watching as two humans talking among each other, being watched cautiously by the elves and dragons that surrounded them, Chara was among them.

It was odd for humans to be in this city, not that they were un-welcome, it was rare that someone survived the Veldon Forest which surrounded them on all sides.

"What is it?" Eslakon asked as he approached Chara, she only turned her attention to him when he was right beside her.

"I don't know what is wrong, that may be in shock to see humans other than yourself, but there is nothing wrong with them." She looked back to wards the two humans, as did he. "I was about to go hunt, but I am curious as to what will happen, even if it won't be very entertaining."

Asha ran to catch up with Liam. She wanted to ressolve anything between them before they got to the city. Already a crowd was begining to form, watching them. Asha gently grabbed Liam's arm, pulling him to a stop. " Are you sure your alright?" she asked him softly.
Liam could see the concern in her eyes was genuine. He hated the fact htat she could read him so easily. Being read is what gets people killed. But he liked it anyway.
"Liam?" Asha was anxious. Liam was breathing heavily; she hadn't noticed before. His face was pale and sweat beaded his forehead.
He took a deep, shaky breath. " No, Asha." Liam winced and clutched his side. " I'm not."
Liam's face contorted in pain. He looked at Asha, fear in his eyes, and collapsed.
"Liam!" Asha struggled to keep him up. " Help! Somebody help me!"

Aubrey leaned back on Drake's side and closed his eyes listening to the wind as it blew through the trees above them. " this is a great place to think, huh drake. Drake?" Aubrey sat up and looked at his dragon.
Drake raised his head and looked toward the city. his ears were pricked and pointed towards it.
"What is it, Drake?" Aubrey asked.
" i hear something. it sounds like... a girl."
" leave it to you to find a girl."
" no... shes screaming. Get on now!"
Aubrey jumped up and grabbed the saddle horn as Drake leaped into the air and flew towards the city.

Asha gently lowered Liam to the ground and looked around frantically. the once crowded sky now looked bare. She let out a sob and tears began to flow down her cheeks. " help!"

Aubrey pressed low to Drake's neck as the dragon tucked in his wings to dive.
Drake swirved past the other dragons in the sky, roaring at them to move.
Aubrey could hear the girl now, her farantic cries for help filling his ears. he swallowed the angry lump in his throat. he couldnt believe no one had went to her yet.
Drake sped up as he heard a sob enter the cry. " get your sword!"
Aubrey pulled his sword from his belt and held it at the ready as Drake unfurled his wings and dropped to the ground.

Asha looked up as the large black dragon landed a few yards away. A boy, an elf, leaped from its back an ran at her, sword in hand. She pulled the dagger from liam's belt and held it up.

At first glance Aubrey thought that it was just the girl sitting on the ground. Then he saw the man next to her. she leaned protectively over his still body a dagger pointed at him.
"be careful, Aubrey." Drake warned him. he walked behind his rider looking for danger.
" what happened?" Aubrey asked the girl

Asha made a quick decision and decided that the boy wasnt an immediate threat to them. " i dont know. he's hurt or something." she looked down at Liam. he was shaking.

" hes sick." drake said, speaking so the girl could hear him." i can smell it."
Aubrey knelt next to the girl and looked at the man. he was pale and shivering, though a film of sweat covered his skin. " we need to get him to a healer." he lifted the man's limp body into his arms.

[Ayzlyn]

Asha pressed the dagger to the elf's throat. " if any harm comes to him, i will kill you." she put a little pressure on his neck to make sure he got the point.

Aubrey looked at the girl with a mix of emotions. she was absolutley serious. he was also amazed that Drake hadnt done anything.
" she obviously cares deeply for the man. i cant blame her for that."
" dont worry. i'll get him help." Aubrey said to her.
